What the bank does

In the Netherlands there are over 8,000 ATMs which are available 24/7. The card slot is protected with an anti-skimming device. You can see what this looks like on the ATM display. The anti-skimming device is intended to prevent criminals from placing a card reader that can copy your card details – a practice known as skimming.

ATM withdrawals are subject to a daily or weekly maximum. Each bank sets its own maximum, so ask your bank what your daily or weekly limit is.

Your debit and credit card are issued with a PIN. These codes are allocated and printed without human intervention. PINs are not registered at the bank either. So only you know your PIN.
