Online banking is a great success – but this success also has a downside: criminals are increasingly targeting online banking and are trying to find methods to break into the system and funnel away funds. Online banking is extremely well protected by the Dutch banks and the damage caused by these malicious practices is fortunately small.

But it is also important for users themselves to take responsibility and know what they can do to keep online banking safe. For this reason, the Netherlands Bankers’ Association started several years ago to conduct awareness-raising campaigns to highlight important rules of conduct. But this website goes further.
