Phishing

Phishing is the collective name for digital activities where criminals try to extract personal information from you. They can use this information to commit fraud with online banking, debit and credit cards, or your identity. Phishing attacks are often aimed at large groups of people, but can also be specifically targeted at a single person or a small group. The attacks are carried out with the aid of information that is already known of that person or group, such as the email address, name or job title.

Phishing is one of the methods used for social engineering.
