Social Engineering: What you can do

As noted, social engineering occurs in many shapes and forms, which makes it difficult to give guidelines that will protect you in all situations.
But always beware of:

• Offers that are too good to be true.
• Pop-ups offering assistance when something appears to go wrong while surfing the net.
• Emails from an acquaintance that seem strange to you.
• Emails from a sender you do not know.
• Online requests to reveal personal details.
