E-purse: What you can do
The balance on your e-purse is basically the same as cash in your wallet – because you do not need the PIN to pay with the e-purse. If your e-purse is lost or stolen, the finder or thief can simply spend the balance on the e-purse – even if your debit card has been blocked. So never load too much onto your e-purse.
- Always keep your PIN secret and never give it to anyone else. Not even to your bank. Your bank will never ask you for confidential information such as your PIN, account numbers and credit card details.
- Carefully shield your PIN when loading your e-purse, for instance by holding your hand over the keypad.
- Check whether the payable amount on the display is correct.
- Immediately report the loss or theft of your e-purse. Go to Numbers to Call.
